About Me

Welcome to my blog!

I am a 30-year-old engineer working for a big IT consulting company.  I am also a Chicago Booth Weekend MBA candidate.  I thought about going to top MBA school for the past two years and the journey since has been quite adventurous.

In this blog, I want to write about three main areas:

  1. My retrospective view of applying for business school, such as GMAT preparation, essay writing, and interview process
  2. My experience while attending business school such as finding a balance between work, school, and personal life
  3. How I will position myself for a post-MBA career such as networking, resume building, and OCR (On-Campus Recruiting)

I hope this blog gives you an insight to your future applications to your MBA school.  If you have any questions, feel free to post your thoughts/comments on the posts.

Hey I’m currently considering Kellogg and Chicago Booth’s weekend MBA program. I am based in Washington, DC, so I am looking at flying into Chicago each weekend. Can you shed some light on how you manage the travel?( Costs, impact on personal life, etc.)

Appreciate your insight, and look forward to seeing to seeing your blog develop.

      Hi Eric,

I expect the total cost of traveling/hotel to be around 35000 for the course of the degree.
In terms of impact on personal life, I would assume that everyone is different because it is…..personal. For me, it did not impact me much because I do not have kids.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to chat with you over the phone or something.
